Forsaken 2016 - E esquecido será!

02 estrelas (10)

Nota: 01.

English:
I just saw the most Bruce Willis movie without the actor in it.
The name of this peace of work is Forsaken, with both Sutherland actors playing respectively father and son.

The plot is has cliché has you can imagine. Western town, bad guys are killing the men so they can have their land. Lost son returns home to make peace with his father and has to make justice. He kills every one. Of course he has a forever lasting love ex-girlfriend, he makes peace with his father, and then goes away again after making «justice» and save everybody! There's even a bad guy with a good conscience, and the two men get to be friends. Ohhh!! Have I seen this anywhere ever? YEEESS!!!

This Hollywood copy-cat script is unforgivable. In this day and age there's two things the movie industry should be able to deliver without making a mess: a story that is a rip of many others scripts but is well done, with good dialogue, stunning performances and specially very good direction OR it can make an original script with a less well made or a strait out-from-the-book direction. This movie MISSES both. It sucks.

But I mentioned Bruce Willis. Where his he?
In Kieve Sutherland performance. Witch looks like a rip-off of many of Die-hard Bruce's performances. Without the humor and carisma, of course. Its always there... in a posture or even in a catching phrase. I don't think it's a coincidence. All movie along I has thinking the directors may have try to cast Bruce to do this hero - with is also named JOHN, has Bruce's character in Die Hard. But he refused and they got the Sutherland instead...

This is so bad that long after Kieve delivers a Bruce Willis rip-off performance and says some Die-Hard rip off lines, there comes the ex-long time girlfriend... and it's played by Demi Moore.

What a way to have an actor in a movie when he even isn't around!!

It is said that talent skips one generation. Well, in this movie that is visible. Both Sutherlands are there but only the older one with much more experience under his belt can deliver a truthfully emotional performance, although he too has played that character-type hundreds of times and it's again a cliché character.

A great villain, although a cliché on paper it's a well done performance
There are great villains interpretations, though.
Unfortunately the phrase a «movie being has great has it's villains» does not save this mountain of "I've seen this before" Southerland's movie.

Give it 2 stars out of 10 because I'm in a good humor after the strong laugh the movie's final scene (the hero horse riding into the horizon with a sleazy narration) took from me!
